By-law and Enforcement Services - Report Vehicle To Be or Has Been Towed

The City of Brampton may tow a vehicle under certain circumstances. On private property/driveway, it is the owner’s responsibility to contact the tow company for towing the vehicle. Certain tow companies may not charge you for the tow.

Below are some circumstances the City may tow:

  • There have been an excessive number of tickets issued
    • An Enforcement Policy, which was approved by Council at the end of August, 2007, states that whenever a vehicle is ticketed 3 times within 60 days
    • Any vehicle that has a previous ticket on the windshield for the same offence in the identical location and appears not to have been moved within the preceding 24-hr period may be towed at the time of the second ticket being issued
  • The vehicle was parked in a tow-away zone
  • The vehicle poses an immediate safety risk in its current location
  • The vehicle is un-plated or abandoned
  • The Works & Transportation Department has made the request in order to aid snow removal operations (the plow has tried to clear and will return to clear the street)
  • Blocking a driveway
  • Interfering with a parade route or street closures

All vehicles towed by the City’s By-Law Enforcement are towed by:
