By-Law and Enforcement Services - Ticketed on Private Property

Parking Tickets issued on Private Property begin with the letter ‘A’:

  • The City has trained and authorized a number of private security companies to write legitimate parking tickets
  • The City also issues tickets on private property for:
    • Designated fire route
    • Fire hydrant
    • Accessible space without permit
  • When a parking ticket is issued by a private company authorized by the City of Brampton, it is a legitimate ticket under the Highways Act that has legal standing in court
  • The back of the ticket will have the options for paying the ticket, including going to court

Other Tickets Issued on Private Property (Parking Invoices)

  • Tickets from private companies not authorized by the City of Brampton are known as invoices for parking, authorized by the property owner or manager.
  • The City will not advise residents on whether or not to pay a parking invoice
